Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent 25-26 Parent Survey. We received a record number of responses, and your input is invaluable as we plan for the future!
Please see below on some of the changes we are making after receiving the results of the survey, as well as answers to the most popular comments and questions. If you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out to the PTA board at peeblespta@gmail.com.
Field Day: Field day is a very popular volunteer opportunity with limited spots (80). To address the high demand and ensure an equitable process for everyone, the Board has decided to return to a randomized lottery system for field day, homeroom parent and party parent during the 2026–2027 school year. Please note in order to be considered for this volunteer position you must be a PTA member and have up-to-date clearances.
Why is PTA Membership required for some events?: PTA lead roles and event captains require strong alignment with our school’s volunteer guidelines and close coordination with school staff. Requiring membership ensures that our lead volunteers receive consistent updates, orientation, and resources directly from the PTA. It also serves as a meaningful benefit for the families whose membership contributions directly fund the school programs, snacks, and events these volunteers help run.
Event Timing and Calendar Awareness: We want to make it as easy as possible for busy families to plan ahead for work and personal schedules. Our updated interactive calendar is now available on our home page and in our bi-weekly emails, allowing you to view current and future months at a glance. For your convenience, all scheduled PTA, Peebles, and District events are color-coded in one central location. Because a few dates are still being finalized, we encourage you to check the calendar periodically for the newest additions and updates!
Frequency of Financial Requests & Donations: We heard your feedback regarding the number of financial asks throughout the year. To help alleviate financial stress for our families, we have actively reduced our overall number of traditional fundraisers.
Because our operating budget directly funds student activities, school programs, and staff appreciation, we will continue asking for targeted donations as needed—whether that means contributing items like cookies for an event or making a small monetary donation toward staff gifts. We strive to offer a wide variety of ways to give so every family can participate in a way that works best for them.
Moving forward, the Board is collaborating with committee chairs to establish a clear schedule of these requests at the start of the school year. Specific dates and details will be added to our central calendar once finalized so you can plan ahead.
Please remember that all participation is entirely optional. For open-to-the-public fundraisers, simply sharing event details with friends, family, or neighbors is a fantastic way to support our school community!
