The Peebles Elementary PTA has established a scholarship program to encourage continuing
education for former Peebles Elementary School (PES) students. The program is managed by a
committee of PTA members, consisting of current PES parents and staff. The number of scholarship(s)
awarded will be based on the amount approved by the PTA, any additional fundraising efforts, and quality of student applicants.

Criteria for Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must meet these criteria:

• The applicant must have attended PES for at least three years.
• The applicant must be a graduating senior at North Allegheny Senior High School.
• The applicant must be enrolled or have been accepted in a full-time course of study at a vocational or trade school or an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university.

Application Process

• Submit listing of activities. Provide a list of all school and community involvement. List organizations (school, church, 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.), year(s) of membership, and any offices held or committees on which you served. You may also list any athletic teams for which you played. In addition, you may list and describe volunteer work and employment. 
• Submit a high school transcript- the official transcript from the Guidance office, or a copy from Tyler is acceptable.
• Submit SAT and/or ACT score. 
• Submit an essay describing “How did your experiences at Peebles Elementary School help shape you into the person that you are today or prepare you for your future?” The essay must be typed and no more than 500 words. 
• Submit ALL of the above to PES PTA c/o Peebles Elementary by the deadline. Mail to the address above or drop off to the PES Office.

Awarding of Scholarship
The scholarship recipient will be chosen by the PTA of PES committee based on the following:
1) essay 2) high school transcript 3) SAT/ACT score 4) activities and community involvement

• The scholarship winner will be announced and notified at the end of April.
• The scholarship recipient will receive the scholarship check in June.
